Filipa Frois Almeida & Hugo Reis, jury members of “Structures of Freedom”
Today we want to present Filipa Frois Almeida and Hugo Reis, founders of Portuguese office FAHR 021.3, and jury members of “Structures of Freedom”, the competition launched by Archtalent in partnership with Sziget, one of the largest music and cultural festivals in the world.
FAHR 021.3 was founded in the city of Porto by architects Filipa Frois Almeida (Germany,1981) and Hugo Reis (Portugal, 1986) in 2012.
FAHR 021.3 is an internationally awarded creative and experimentalist studio, which (un)focuses its work between art and architecture. Deriving from the German word erfahrung (experience), FAHR 021.3 stands up as a lab studio developing conceptual strategies on the brink of unexpected, contradiction, and decontextualization. The restlessness and the constant desire to seek new solutions, give rise to a variety of performances differing on manifesto, temporary, scale and materials. Exploring the boundaries between disciplines, FAHR develops architectural interventions at different scales with new imaginative purposes.

Since 2012, FAHR 021.3 have been awarded nationally and internationally with some urban interventions, such as ESTRUTURA DE S. JOÃO and METAMORFOSE. They have recently won a Public Art contest in Taipei (Taiwan) with the play NAPPE and are also one of the creators of the HODOS project, which aims at architectural intervention in the landscape.
